In has been a testing Premier League season for anti-racism campaigners. Various allegations of racism by high profile players have resulted in an 8-match ban for Liverpool player Luiz Suarez for racially abusing Patrice Evra.

It was only made worse earlier this month, when a Liverpool fan was arrested for allegedly aiming racist abuse at Oldham Athletic player Tom Adeyemi, in an FA Cup game.

What had been the topic of much debate was the way in which Liverpool Football Club had gone to great lengths to defend Luiz Suarez.

It has been reported by some that those accused of racially abusing Tom Adeyemi were wearing similar t-shirts to those worn by Liverpool players as part of their campaign to show support for Suarez.

Despite this however, head of Chelsea’s Polish fan club, Robert Błaszczak believes that the vast majority of fans stand up against racism.
